For UGC NET Dec 2016 , UGC changes eligibility
criteria for lectureship and JRF scholarship. Recently they published
a notification regarding this news. After the declaration of results
a merit list will prepared. Only top 15% candidates will be eligible
for lectureship (NET). According to
new cutoff notification candidate’s emphasis on aggregate marks.
Only those candidates will be included in merit those who will score
minimum qualifying marks in three paper separately.
The applicant will be necessary to get minimum passing marks
in each paper separately, i.e., 40%, 40% & 50% for general category;
35%, 35% & 45% for OBC category and 35%, 35% and 40% for SC (Schedule cast
)/ST (Schedule tribe )/PWD candidates in Paper 1, paper 2 and paper 3
correspondingly.
A merit list will be arranged subject wise and
category wise using the cumulative marks . Only Top 15% candidates (for
each subject and category), from this merit list, will be declared
UGC NET qualified for eligibility for lectureship only. A
separate merit list for the award of JRF will be prepared from
amongst the NET qualified candidates figuring in the merit list. In
UGC NET Dec 2016 around 7.8 lakh candidates participated for 78 subjects.
Total 77 centers were allocated for for UGC NET Dec 2016 .
